Arlene graduated from Pratt Institute in 1983 with a degree in graphic design and illustration. After a variety of jobs including magazine and typesetting production manager, paste-up artist, assistant graphic designer, and freelance Illustrator she started her own small graphic design company serving the Baltimore-DC area.
In 1992, Arlene began working with polymer clay, with a friend, under the business name of About Face. They sold their polymer clay creations at area craft shows including: Frederick Festival of the Arts, Wine in the Woods, and Colorfest. After a short break to focus on family, Arlene and her daughter Michelle began Midnightdaydreams.
Michelle is currently pursuing her own art career abroad. She has already won a number of awards and scholarships with her art.
The family business is rounded off by Bob who acts as general business manager, not to mention doing most of the heavy lifting during set-up and tear down at shows and festivals. Bob named our business Midnightdaydreams.
